Develop a plan of action
If you are not sure where to find the information, remember your People Resources, in particular Careers Advisers, alumni and university tutors can help.
Talk your ideas through
Discuss your plans with your People Resources. Make sure you know what your chosen occupation entails, what skills and personal qualities are required and what implications there are for finances and family. Be prepared to answer searching questions and accept constructive criticism.
Develop an action plan
Create a Careers action plan for each of your career options to see if they are feasible. Note the things you need to do, set yourself realistic deadlines - and do them!
Carry out the actions on your action plan to see if one career option stands out. It's useful to have a second option too - as a contingency plan.
Do you have a career direction now? Do you need to make any adjustments to your Career action plan?
Now move towards implementing your career action plan! Good Luck!
